I am so excited to share about the DVD and BLU-RAY release of The Star! If your family loves great animation, stories of faith and friendship, and incredible music, you will want to get this film!

The story follows Bo, a donkey who wants more from life than the village mill, as he goes on an adventure with other animals. That adventure leads to them being accidental heroes in the most incredible way!

The all-star cast is so amazing (I'm a huge fan of Gina Rodriguez who voices Mary!). This movie also features a Golden Globe Award nominated song by vocal powerhouse Mariah Carey! I can't imagine any better choice!

There are so many incredible special features, too! One of my favorites is the interactive and super engaging children's bible study Faith All Year Round with Devon Franklin.  It focuses on how to keep this story in our hearts at any season!
I also love the sing-along special features and craft ideas that would be great for your little ones. There's so much to love about this release!

Review for Fireproof

Thanks to the faith-based movie site FishFlix, I  had the opportunity to see Fireproof recently! It is about marital struggles, reconciliation, and how faith can change who you've been.

I'll readily admit that the first few scenes were hard to watch for me. The relationship between our main characters is toxic and rather upsetting in the beginning.  I was hesitant to see how reconciliation was possible- and so were our characters.

Caleb (a fireman played by Kirk Cameron) is fortunate enough to have truly wonderful parents who encourage him to pursue a path of understanding towards his wife and self-reflection towards his own behaviors. It is slow progress, but as he gets closer to a newfound belief in God he begins to find a truer love for his wife than ever before. As the demonstrations of commitment become less selfish, they impact the marriage. Faith changes Caleb and that changes every aspect of his marriage for the better.

Ultimately, they both make a new commitment to each other and to their beliefs. It solidifies something very special.

I hope you all check it out if that sounds like your kind of story. I personally  truly enjoyed seeing the journey of Fireproof.

I received a copy of the Fireproof DVD for free in exchange for a review from FishFlix.com - a website specializing in Christian Movies.  All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Review for Confessions of a Prodigal Son

PictureKevin Sorbo's performance is the standout feature of this movie.

Confessions of a Prodigal Son is a new movie that I was able to screen for review. I'm excited to share my thoughts with all of you and I think many of my readers would enjoy this heartwarming, small-budgeted, religious film.

The story of a "prodigal son" from The Bible is one familiar to most people. I think that's why it persists more than other stories have in the minds of the public. This refresher is an understated presentation of a situation we've all heard before- perhaps even experienced.

While this movie is very low-budgeted and there are easily things to critique, there are some great things too. Kevin Sorbo's acting is spot on as the father. He really brings it home. The quiet feel of the film keeps you thinking and searching your own heart. The final favorite thing I watched was the gentle redemption depicted.

This movie is a must see for Christians everywhere and I know several family members and neighbors who will be seeing it after they hear about it.
