Step 1. Get a roller chair. I got a kitchen roller chair at a yard sale for $10. It was dirty, the upholstery was damaged, and it needed some love.
Step 2. Clean, clean, clean any used furniture.
Step 3. Paint needed areas (I painted the oak portions black to suit my room decor) and seal the paint with a clear gloss.
Step 4. Buy desired fabric (sturdy quality)
Step 5. Staple gun fabric onto batting after removing old fabric. (replace batting if there's anything wrong with it)
